ICx TECHNOLGIES™ AWARDED $4.4 MILLION CONTRACT FROM THERMOFISHER SCIENTIFIC

WASHINGTON (April 15, 2008) - ICx Technologies (NASDAQ: ICXT), a developer of advanced sensor technologies for homeland security, force protection and commercial applications, announced today that it has been awarded an order worth $4.4 million, to provide identiFINDER radiation detectors to ThermoFisher Scientific. The identiFINDER is a hand-held detection unit that finds and, most importantly, identifies radioactive material. With more than 6,000 units in daily use by government, military and security forces worldwide, the identiFINDER differentiates real nuclear threats (illicit materials or parts of dirty bombs, for example) from non-threatening radiation sources, such as medical patients or shipments of products like kitty litter and bananas, which contain normally occurring radioactive elements. “Because our device is so fast and precise,” said Juergen Stein, CEO of ICx Technologies' radiation division, “next-step responses can rapidly be determined without unnecessary disruption to traffic flow, passengers or commerce”. The kits will be used by a number of government agencies for homeland defense.  

ICx SHINES AT ISC WEST

By all accounts this year's show was a great success, as the following quote from the ISC Website suggests: “More than 26,000 security professionals put themselves at the center of the security universe and found out what's hot today, and how to prepare for tomorrow.” The traffic and lead generation at the ICx booth on Wednesday and Thursday certainly reflected this high attendance. A good number of pre-arranged and ad-hoc meetings were conducted during the show, and we also received a fair amount of media attention as well, with several fruitful meetings and interviews being held with the media. We anticipate that several top-tier publications will feature ICx over the coming weeks as our CommandSpace message and positioning resonated strongly with several of the reporters and editors. HSTODAY NAMES ICx AS A “FUTURE LEADER IN HOMELAND SECURITY”

The April 2008 issue of HS Today, a leading security trade publication, features ICx Technologies in its comprehensive article on top-ranked security firms, and names it as one of the “ten companies that show promise as future leaders in homeland security.” The magazine ranks ICx as number seven, and says that it “shows the dynamic and technologically driven nature of homeland security.” Click here to read the article.
